Redemption
On the latest episode (HERE) of Dharma Time, The Dharma Guy & The Dope Doctor talk about redemption.
Redemption is sought after by many and obtained by some. Kobe Bryant’s death brought up many conversations on this topic as he was accused some time ago of rape. He is an example of how one goes about getting redemption. He never went to trial, but the damage was done and he need redemption.
You must always keep in mind that you will never be able to get forgiveness from everyone for everything. There will always be someone out there that feels you are unredeemable for whatever reason. That isn’t on you to make them forgive or forget. That is where they are on their journey and you must allow them to be there.
The way you obtain redemption is to live long enough to atone in people’s eyes. You atone by living a positive life and being of service. Showing, through your actions that you have learned from your transgressions and have changed for the better. It will take time and consistency, but it is possible.
Lastly, you must never allow yourself or others to sum you up based upon your worst moment. None of us would come out unscathed if we were to be judged solely on our worst moments. Everyone is the sum of all their parts, including the worst AND the best moments.
