Healing

On the latest episode (HERE) of Dharma Time, The Dharma Guy & The Dope Doctor talk about healing.

The latest episode of Dharma Time is about healing. The Dharma Guy & The Dope Doctor bring on special guest Patrick Dunn to share his story of loss and perseverance. Trauma, loss and heartbreak all require healing. Healing is your responsibility and can only be done by you.

What does healing look like? Closure is a great indicator. If you no longer suffer from it or if you can openly discuss it and no longer have it drive your emotional state…you have begun healing. Healing isn’t a one time deal, but a process the takes a different amount of time for everyone. You must allow yourself the ability to heal properly without expectations as to what that may look like or how long it should take.

We need to heal because it impacts everyone and everything we come into contact with daily. We might not realize it, but lack of healing changes our perspective and values. As someone said on the show, "the hurt can’t drive bus”.

While whatever happened might not be our fault nor can we undo it, it is our responsibility to heal from it. It isn’t someone else’s fault that we experienced the event or issue and therefore they shouldn’t have to deal with the aftermath. We can’t expect others to pick up the pieces.
